To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing this letter in support of the re-election of Representative Tim Goodwin. My name is Jacob Wilts, I just finished my senior year at SDSU, and I had the privilege of working for Tim Goodwin as an intern for the Republican Party House of Representatives during 2019.

Tim gave every bill a genuinely fair hearing. That may sound contrite, but for Tim that was actually true. He never pledged a vote on a bill before hearing the testimony on it. Listening with an open mind to every bill allowed him to fully consider how it would impact his constituents and then he could vote his conscience, with his constituents’ interests in mind.

Tim was also a staunch defender of the liberties protected by the Constitution, which he swore to uphold with his oath of office. He was giving testimony on the constitutional carry bill, and he merely read the 2nd Amendment in its entirety and said he swore to uphold the Constitution, so he had to vote in accordance to that. During session I saw him also defend the protections of freedom of speech and state’s rights protected by the first and tenth amendments respectively. Not only did he protect our rights while in the Legislature, he physically protected them by serving in the Army previously!

I listed above just a few of the many reasons I believe Tim Goodwin is a great Representative. I think this makes me very capable of saying how hard he works for his constituents, and that no one can represent District 30 better than he can. I emphatically encourage you to vote for Tim Goodwin in the Republican primary, and then again in the general election this fall!

Sincerely,
Jacob Wilts
